Murten-Morat, the start and end destination of our cruises, was named "Swiss Village of the Year 2024", an award that recognizes the versatility and cultural heritage of the Zähringen town. The village impresses with its picturesque old town, bilingual culture and lively community. Historical traditions, such as the Battle of Murten festival, are an integral part of village life. The jury, consisting of readers of *Schweizer Illustrierte*, *L'illustré* and *La Domenica*, selected Murten-Morat from six finalists. The award underlines the special character and uniqueness of the municipality.
