Sustainable Travel on the Attila Boutique Boatel
Attila stands for modern, eco-friendly tourism in Switzerland. We focus on slow travel, regional collaboration, and a style of travel that respects the beauty of the Three Lakes Region.
Slow travel instead of mass tourism
A trip with Attila is deliberately slow, personal, and intimate. You’ll experience Lake Murten, Lake Neuchâtel, and Lake Biel without the hustle and bustle, without large groups, and without unnecessary fanfare. That’s exactly where the value lies: less distance, more experience.
Sustainability and environmental protection
The Attila is a flagship project in terms of sustainable tourism and environmentally friendly travel. Powered by a hybrid engine and powered by green electricity, we consciously show consideration for nature and the environment.
We focus on slow travel, environmentally conscious tourism and respect the beauty of the Three Lakes region that we visit. Wherever possible, we have therefore opted for sustainable solutions, thereby setting an example in cruise tourism.
The Attila is powered by a hybrid drive system that works with electric motors and the latest generation of resource-saving diesel generators. There is currently no more environmentally friendly solution available on the market.
We rely on green electricity. Our aim is to obtain at least 70 percent of the electricity we use from appropriate sources. In addition, you shower in your cabins with filtered seawater. This results in environmentally friendly overall consumption, which need not cause our guests any headaches. You are traveling sustainably and climate-friendly.
Regional Cuisine
Our hearts are set on the Three Lakes Region. That is why we see it as our mission to strengthen this region and actively involve local businesses and producers in the project. The food offerings on board are based on seasonal and regional products. In this way, we support local businesses and offer our guests fresh, authentic quality.
When converting the MS Attila, we used craftsmen, suppliers and producers from the region wherever possible. Our philosophy of strengthening local craftsmanship, regional producers and Three Lakes tourism in general is an important component of the project.
Most of the food on board the Boutique Boatel comes from the region and is based on seasonal trends. We strive to integrate as many professional fishermen, vegetable producers, winegrowers, butchers etc. from the Three Lakes region as possible into the project. This enables us to guarantee fresh, seasonal food and at the same time support local businesses.
Cruise guests can choose from a wide range of interesting and fascinating excursions that introduce them to the attractions and specialties of the region. This allows us to show our guests the beauty and uniqueness of this region and actively promote tourism.
The MS Attila offers special trips for special events in the Three Lakes region. Be it during the light festival in Murten, the Treberwurst season of the Lake Biel winegrowers or a festival on the shores of Lake Neuchâtel: we enable both local and foreign guests to experience special moments in this beautiful region.
Commitment to children
Attila deliberately wants to give children and disadvantaged people the chance to be part of the project. After all, we want to make people happy and show even the youngest children how important sustainability and regionality are.
The Attila is much more than just a cruise ship. We see the project as an investment in our region and as an example of sustainable and climate-friendly tourism. We want to convey this message to the future generation. We are planning special and themed cruises and special projects for children and young people with and around the boat.
