Discover Biel's Old Town

Biel's Old Town is a lively place steeped in history, with narrow streets, squares, restaurants, and small shops. It's the perfect spot for a relaxed break during a trip to the Three Lakes Region.

After a walk through Biel/Bienne's city center, you will reach the beautiful old town, which was founded between 1220 and 1230. The northern city wall, the Obergasse and Untergasse, the castle and the Burggase, the "Ring-Platz" and the Untergässli are all reminders of this period. The old town is largely traffic-free and has been experiencing a revival in recent years. The ideal place to store, linger and enjoy an aperitif.

Our tip:
Take a stroll through the romantic alleyways and venture into the numerous attractive little stores, cafés or one of the fine restaurants.
